Using the intriguing work of Damon Milstead of CCIDGFX as a starting point, I combined some of his C4D modeling and Octane shading techniques with some shader animation ideas I'd been wanting to try, added a camera move, some fog, lighting, and shader tweaks.
Using an Octane gradient pumped into the Transmission and a fair amount of turbulence yielded some nice complexity and detail, but a little too busy for this piece.
