A commercial that could never possibly exist
The idea was to take an old but cool-looking TV and infuse the ad with high-tech-staged, low-tech-looking imagery.
I like the idea of using low-tech imagery presented in a high-tech manner to advertise something old that was meant to be futuristic when it first arrived.
Old and new, dilapidated and refined - clash, in a decidedly low-tech way.
Color, and the lack of it, further reinforce this dichotomy.
Low-tech shaders and simple objects in a space-age world.
Growing various Mograph fields to transition from one Octane shader to another gives the impression of a struggle.
As a final touch, we dissolve from a full color image to a faded, jumpy, out of sync video look.
